The formation of Universe has dated back to around 14 billion years ago. Around 4.5 billion years ago the very planet in which you are currently reading this blog i.e. our mother earth was created.
Ever wondered why on earth? Why not in Moon and not in Jupiter?
Well, you are right. Earth consists of all the favorable conditions required where life can exist. The temperature, gravity, resources, climate, and everything are just perfect for the sustenance of life. But how did this happened?
Not going too technical, but it is known that around 4.5 billion years ago, the large mass of rocks collided to form a big mass of rock called earth. The combination of rocks which earth accumulated after collision gave it a certain mass which resulted in certain velocity and inclination (gravity effect) making it revolve around the sun in a particular orbit.
This orbit in which earth started revolving provided earth an optimum temperature. During this, earth witnessed a billion years of volcanic eruptions, the surface covered by ice and then meteor showers. All these resulted in the formation of the ozone layer around the earth, the formation of water on its surface and most importantly creation of life.
All these favorable conditions helped non-living chemicals such as lipids, amino acids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acid to transform into a self-sustaining living cell. This is how the first life was created under the oceans billions of years ago. And the rest is a story. With the series from unicellular to multi-cellular organisms, life evolved.
With sufficient amount of oxygen, it facilitated the formation of bony skeletons and then the spine and brains.
Finally after a long history of evolution, Homo sapiens, we human beings, the most evolved species found our existence in this planet.
So the questions that arise here are:
• Is it a coincidence that the mass of earth formed by the collision of rock clouds of dust and dying stars was perfect to give the earth a suitable orbit?
• Is it a coincidence that the rocks collided to form earth were rich in certain chemical compositions which resulted in the creation of life?
• Is it a coincidence that the series of volcanic eruptions, earth being covered by the ice, formation of water and the ozone layer (the protective blanket over the earth) played important role in the creation of life and more importantly evolution of life?
You can consider this to be a sheer coincidence or you can believe it to be God’s will that life is created and flourishing on Earth. We can only believe that, which we can understand. And we can understand only that which our intellect allows us to be logical.
Write down your views about the creation of the earth in the comments section below. What do you think? Is the creation of life on earth a mere coincidence or was it a full proof arrangement by God? And if you think God has created this, then the question arises, why? Why did God create life?
