We know something as discovery when it is already present in the universe and we anyhow found it. And when something is created out of this universe for human purpose, we call it an invention.
So when it comes to time, what is it? Is it a discovery or invention?
Let’s check it out.
This thought came across my mind when I was bombarded with the continuous mention of time.
“It is 9 o’clock, wake up”, “It’s already 2 pm, when are you having your lunch?”, “it’s 1 pm and you and you are still in your bed” and many such mentions of time all through the day.
There are few days in life where you can just live the way you like without bothering what day it is, what time it is. But there are few lives that are tied to the ticking of the clock.
Those lives are spent as a routine based on the movement of hands of a clock.
Okay so coming back to it.
After hearing “time” more than 10 times a day, I pretty much come to a conclusion that it was created by us humans to live life accordingly and in a set pattern.
But let’s look at the bigger picture.
What is the time?
What we call a year is basically earth completing its one revolution around the sun which is also equal to 365 days and 4 hours.
And what we call a day is an earth completing one rotation around its own axis which has been further divided into 24 equal hours.
But did it ever occur to you that all the revolutions and rotations are just happening? They are just happening in the Universe.
We made time out of earth’s motion. We made it because we need it. We need certain parameters so that we can measure the duration. But why do we need to measure the duration?
We humans have become so busy and involved in so many activities all through the day, most of which is never required and humans just never value the existence.
In process of making a better tomorrow, we just forget the perfect today.
So once you start realizing the value of existence, would you bother, what time it is?
And then the question arises, if time is discovery or invention?
What do you think about time? What is time to you? And how important is time to you?
